In the story of Liberal MP David Smith, representing the riding of Pontiac, more news from my friends on the Kitigan Zibi reserve, just outside of Maniwaki, concerning Frank Brazeau, the bureaucrat suspended for his role in the matter (as yet to be clearly explained by the Liberal government):
The RCMP came to the reserve at Frank's house and seized his PC and laptop after the report [KPMG audit] came out.
The audit has not actually come out in public, of course, but it has come to the attention of officials who are taking action to terminate the questionable contracts delivered to Abotech, the home-based business once run by David Smith, now run by his wife.
Now what does the RCMP think they will find in a computer in Frank Brazeau's house? Personal banking records? Evidence of kickbacks?
Or records from his time as secretary of the Liberal Party riding association for Pontiac?
Who knows? We can only guess.
We can also wonder when the RCMP is going to get around to visiting 21 Meilleur St in Gatineau, home of MP David Smith and corporate headquarters of Abotech. Unless they've been there already.
That's a question to ask the minister in charge, the Honourable Anne McLellan, who as Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness is in charge of the Mounties.
