It's very important to have pithy comebacks ready when you're in a fight

From Edmonton, the story of a mom who wouldn't be pushed around:

An angry mom took the law into her own hands by chasing and tackling a man who'd stolen her son's bicycle in south Edmonton.

"I was really mad, it's just not necessary," said Jody, who didn't want her last name used. "It was my son's bike.

"If you're pissed off and you feel violated, you act out."

Chasing the man down and accompanied by her fiance, Jody cornered the man in a housing development. There they pinned the perp to the wall:

The man tried to bolt, but Jody's six-foot-five fiance grabbed him and threw him up against the wall. That's when the man, who seemed high on drugs, threatened to charge the pair with assault, Jody said.

"I told him if he was going to charge us with assault, then we were going to make it worth our while," Jody said. "I said 'Go ahead and tell people you got beaten up by a girl.' "

Now that's a line to remember.

Better than "That's not fair!"
