Liza Frulla plunges the knife of pity deep into poor Stephane Dion

Apparently the Liberal Party has no organization on the ground in Quebec should something unexpected happen and the actually vote against the Conservative government and force an election:

Senior federal Liberals are publicly questioning the party's lack of election readiness in , placing the blame on Liberal Leader and his key organizers in the province.

Mr. Dion will face the criticism head-on at the end of the week when he spends two days in Montreal.

Steven Pinkus, the party's vice-president for Quebec's anglophone community, went public on the weekend in the Quebec media with recriminations against the Liberals' recruiting, fundraising and communication efforts.

“The party is hurting itself if no one is willing to step up to the plate to put together an organization strategy,” he said in an interview Monday.

It's been two years since the last election, and a year since Stephane Dion has become leader.  And there is no organization strategy?

Where is the anger?  Where is the frustration?

[Pinkus] was joined by other Liberals who said the party faces stiff problems in Quebec, starting at the top with Mr. Dion.

“He has no instinct,” former Liberal minister and political commentator said in an interview.

“At a certain point, people feel it if there is something wrong, even if they don't know exactly what it is. But he, poor Stéphane, doesn't feel it.”

Poor Stephane?  Liza Frulla has turned Stephane Dion into a charity case.

Pity the Liberal Party.

Pity has a way of expanding.  It empowers people to find excuses to explain shortcomings.

How long before someone points out that none of this is really Stephane Dion's fault, and that we shouldn't be too hard on the guy, because frankly he should never have won the Liberal leadership?

His win was an accident, and he is the victim in this.

Pity the poor victim.  Pity poor Stephane.

I wonder if Stephane Dion is going to overcompensate, and start firing people to show he is to be feared.
