Volksfront International Mid-Winter Gathering: Putting the brakes on fundraising for Richard Kemp

By way of summary, recall that Volksfront International had planned what seemed to be an unlicenced fundraiser, but soon after I drew attention to this plan by white supremacists to gather in British Columbia and raise funds, the fundraiser was canceled.

What was the point of the fundraiser?  The promotional poster mentioned "POWs", but it turns out that there was one particular POW for whom funds were being raised, that being Richard Kemp, as reported in a forum post:

All proceeds go to Volksfront Canada & the POW fund (Specifically for Richard Kemps Release)

Here are some details concerning Richard Kemp's upcoming release from prison:

Congratulations also to Richard for his soon to be release.  He is due to be released from federal prison sometime within the next 4 months.

Richard Kemp has been incarcerated more then half of his life and in fact, has spent more time behind ZOG's walls then he has in the free world.  Richard was sentenced to 60 years on the charges of racketeering, conspiracy, and armored car robbery. At the time of his conviction Richard Kemp was the youngest member of the order at 22 years old.

Richard Kemp, as well as all of the members of The Order have made the ultimate sacrifice for their race. Richard and the other members of The Order have remained strong in their beliefs and their loyalty to our Folk' s cause throughout the duration of their incarceration. Richard has contributed many great articles to racialist publications and websites over the years and has been instrumental in gaining the rights for Odinist/Asatru worship areas in federal prisons across the country.

Richard will be paroling to a halfway house in an area where he does not have any family and does not know anyone. After over 24 years in prison for making a stand for our Folk, it is our DUTY to insure that when his feet finally do hit the street, his needs will be taken care of.

We are humbly requesting that our Kinsfolk circulate this request far and wide. If you are in a crew, please pass the hat whenever you get together. Funds will be collected to be given to Richard Kemp upon his release. A strict accounting of these funds will be kept and every one that contributes is encouraged to write to Richard as well to let him know you appreciate the sacrifices he has made and that you are doing your part to support him upon his release.

Richard will receive a log of all that contribute so that he may personally thank those who have stepped up to help out.

Contributions will be accepted from now until February 2009. For more efficient accounting purposes we are asking individuals that are part of a crew or organization to collect their own donations internally and make a lump sum contribution no later then February 2009.

You can donate via PayPal by sending as a 'payment' NOT 'donation' to:

Be sure to reference 'Kemp Fund' when making a payment via PayPal

Our goal is to raise at least $1000 by February 2009 to help Richard Kemp get on his feet when he is freed from ZOG's dungeons.

You can contact Richard personally at the following address:

If you are not familiar with Richard Kemp you can read a brief introduction on the http://www.freetheorder.org/

So this Mid-Winter Gathering was aiming to help reach that $1000 goal this month, in time for Richard Kemp's release from the "dungeon", that being FCI Sheridan, a medium security facility in Oregon.

Richard Kemp is quite well-known in white supremacist circles.  He is a member of The Order, a group responsible for the murder of radio talk show host Alan Berg in 1984.  To raise funds, The Order executed a number of armoured car robberies.  After the murder of Berg, The Order was rolled up, and ten members were convicted of racketeering and other charges.

In Evelyn Schlatter's Aryan Cowboys, we learn about Richard Kemp's role in the murder of Walter West:

Once [Order found Robert Jay Mathews] assembled his inner circle, he launched his money-making ventures, which began with small-time robberies and culminated with armored car heists.  Like the fictional character Earl Turner, he also spearheaded a counterfeiting operation.  Also like Turner's Organization, Mathew's Order fully intended to kill the enemy.  Alan Berg, well known among extremists for his bombastic anti-right wing opinions, was the second (and last) victim of Mathew's master plan.  The first was Walter West, a member of The Order who other members felt "talked too much."  According to journalists Kevin Flynn and Gary Gerhardt, Order members Richard Kemp and James Dye took West deep into the Kaniksu National Forest of northern Idaho, where Kemp hit him over the head with a sledgehammer, thought the blow did not kill him.  Randy Ducy then shot West in the forehead.  David Tate accompanied the small group.

Apparently this is the person for whom those funds were to be raised at the Mid-Winter Gathering.  But not now.

According to the posting at the Nordwave Florida website, Richard Kemp is going to get a detailed log of the donors to his fund so he can make contact with them.

Two questions come to mind.

First, is it a condition of his parole that Kemp not contact is former Order comrades?  That's a typical stipulation of parole, I think.  If so, that log could get him into some trouble, depending on who exactly is on it.

And second, is that log going to list people who actively worked to deny him funds?

Uh-oh.
